Hot Rocks
A British made series wherein a very likable and enthusiastic Scottish geologist, Iain Stewart, explains the history of various countries and lands around the Mediterranean from the perspective of their rocks and formations. With this, he can explain not only how the local area formed, but also how the geology affected culture, architecture, and art. The series was originally produced as a series of six one-hour films in late 2004, entitled Journey From The Centre Of The Earth. It was later re-broadcast on Discovery's "Science Channel" as Hot Rocks.
Many of his explanations of experiments and geological processes are done with food, presumably so you can have your demonstration and eat it, too.
