It's An Adventure, Right?...Right? is the title of two different pieces of fan fiction, both of which are Haruhi/Evangelion crossovers.
The first starts with Eva-04 not blowing itself up, and arriving in Japan alongside Unit 03 just in time to fight it. Naturally, the pilot of 04 is none other than Haruhi Suzumiya. As for what happened next...nobody knows, because a single (private) review very politely tore it to pieces after three short chapters. Where was Asuka? Where was Kyon? Where was the S.O.S. Brigade? Why was I (the author) un-deconstructing a famous deconstruction of the Mary Sue? So, it died an ignoble death, but the basic idea stuck in my head...
The second version of IAARR is the result of A. reading Aeon Natum Engel and seeing what Eva fanfic could be, and B. going back to the drawing board and trying to figure out how the two wildly different universes could mesh together. (The answer is not pretty.) It begins when time-traveling "Agent Omicron-522/B", suddenly finding herself with a new boss, takes the opportunity to try and rid herself (and the world) of a potentially universe-destroying Reality Warper. Things go horribly wrong, stranding 552/B on an Earth that is still recovering from Second Impact.
Five years later, a young boy named Shinji Ikari receives a letter from his long-absent father...
Tropes used by the new version of IAARR include:
- All There in the Manual: The EvaGeeks wiki is required reading for this story. (As well as for canon Evangelion, IMO.)
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Mikuru's entire character in this story will be based on the Obfuscating Moeblobbiness interpretation of Mikuru.
- Infinite Supplies: Averted; due to reasons that will remain undisclosed at this time, NERV does not have the infinite budget granted by SEELE in canon, and thus barely scrounged together the resources to complete EVA-01.
