  • Tear Jerker: The moment when Mrs. Bulstrode quietly affirms her loyalty to her husband, despite the enormity of what has happened. (Done quite affectingly in the 1994 miniseries.)
  • Values Dissonance: Not a particularly extreme example, but Will being stigmatised simply for being part Polish comes off as this to a modern reader.
