Awesome Music: "Danny Boy", which shows up in a scene that doubles as a Moment of Awesome and a Funny Moment while featuring Bottomless Magazines. Carter Burwell's score is also impressive.
Better on DVD: You'll need multiple viewings the understand the plot completely.
Funny Moments: Johnny Caspar yelling at his idiot son.
- Tom gets captured by Caspar's crew and is going to get worked over by Frankie, the big lug. Tom breaks free from his chair and slugs his would-be torturer in the nose. Just as Tom picks up the chair to defend himself, Frankie exclaims "Jesus, Tom" and walks out of the room. Tom just stands there confused until the smaller, meaner Tic-Tac storms in, knocks the chair from his hands, and delivers a beatdown.
Magnificent Bastard: Tom.
The Scrappy: Bernie makes Eli Sunday look like Chuck Norris.
Moment of Awesome: Usually 'Danny Boy' is there to heighten or foreshadow tragedy. Leo plays it while lounging around in his bathrobe when guys burst in with tommyguns in hand and their hats on their heads, he sure looks like the Sacrificial Lion. But not quite. For added Badassery, he casually relights his cigar with his smoking gun while gazing at the flaming wreckage. Also doubles as Soundtrack Dissonance.

Vindicated by History: While it wasn't particularily successful when it was first released, Time magazine in 2005 chose Miller's Crossing as one of the 100 greatest movies ever made since the inception of the periodical.
What an Idiot!: Frankie and Tic-Tac, who don't bother to actually watch Tom make the kill that's supposed to prove his loyalty. The Dane later beats the crap out of them for their stupidity.
