Mostly likely, he'll end up missing it entirely, especially after saying he's hoping not to miss a minute of it (see Tempting Fate). Or maybe he misses just the most important part (like The Summation of a mystery, or a major reveal in a Soap Opera) because of a special report. An alternate variation is for a character to miss it, but to have thought ahead and taped or Ti Vo'd it—and then for a friend or coworker to spoil it for them. |
