Persona Trinity Soul/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Broken Base: Whoa, nelly. This series tends to get a very split fanbase going right down the middle, but the general opinion is that it's much better if you don't approach it expecting a gorgeous continuation of the Persona3 storyline.
  • Discontinuity: -Trinity Soul- now is this with regards to Persona 3 due to both Persona4 contradicting it, and Word of God declaring it non-canon. Though to be fair, it already had traces of this thanks to the liberties taken with Personae mechanics (which could however be chalked up to playing up the Summon Magic aspect of Personae), in particular the not-established-anywhere-else rule about adults losing their Personae (which Persona2 and Persona4 completely Jossed).
  • Tear Jerker : Almost the entirety of episode 23. Kanaru's reaction to her home's actual appearance and her dying on Shin's shoulder is heartbreaking.
  • Uncanny Valley: Kanaru can come across as this, depending on your point of view. The bionoid created by Kujou is this, too, probably intentionally, because boy, is it creepy.
