  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming/Tear Jerker:
    • The episode in which Shinji gets in trouble with Gendo at school. After school, Shinji tells Yui (who's apparently still alive) about what happened, Gendo tells him to take a bath and go to bed. Afterward he goes to bed. He then has a dream (or maybe a flashback) of him, Yui and a young Shinji having a picnic together. The episode ends with a shot of Shinji and Gendo's hands all but clasped together when Gendo passes an onigiri to Shinji. Awwww...
    • The episode in which Rei 1 wakes up sick with a fever. To allow her sister to rest, Rei 2 dresses in her uniform and goes to school in her place. Asuka quickly catches on that something is up (Rei 1 and 2 are almost total opposites), Rei 2 admits what's going on, and the entire class follows her home with get-well presents (much to Rei 1's surprise).
