Plan 9 from Outer Space/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Beam Me Up, Scotty: Eros never said "A particle of sunlight contains many atoms!"; the actual quote is "A ray of sunlight is made up of many atoms!".
    • In a non-verbal one, the flying saucers are actual toy flying saucers rather than the pie tins and paper plates that they're often mocked as.
  • Executive Meddling: The film was financed by a group of Baptist ministers, who insisted Wood's preferred title Grave Robbers from Outer Space be changed to something less blasphemous.
    • Actually, this is a myth. The Baptists were fine with the original title--it changed, rather mysteriously, as the film was shunted around from distribution company to distribution company. Some suggest this might have been to avoid paying the Baptists back...
  • The Other Marty: Unwisely averted; the trope exists for a reason.
  • The Shelf of Movie Languishment: Completed in 1956, released in 1959.
  • Stunt Casting: Bela Lugosi, after he died, no less.
