  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Sir Aaron's theme.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: This movie got a lot of people onto the Lucario bandwagon.
  • Hell Is That Noise: The Regis sound like broken music equipment. Regirock's speech is low and garbled, Regice's high pitched voice stutters constantly, and Registeel barely even says anything coherent aside from high speed record scratches. In all three cases, their cries consist of heavily distorted, human-voiced Pokémon-Speak.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Brock's first meeting with the wild Bonsly can be seen as even funnier, when, later in Battle Frontier, he would catch a Bonsly of his own.
  • Ho Yay: Aaron and Lucario have astronomical amounts of this.
  • Interspecies Romance: So many fanworks...
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The fact that Ash possesses the same power as Aaron and Lucario is never really touched upon in this movie or the series.
    • Aura does come up occasionally in the series from the DP arc, most notably when Ash uses it to save a kidnapped Riolu. It's more a case of Refusal of the Call that actually sticks - Ash instead chooses to continue following his goal as a Pokémon Trainer.
