Alternate Character Interpretation: New guy Philip actually does demonstrate some very mild symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome such as trouble making small talk, awkward in social situations, keeps private lists written around. If he does turn out to have it it'll be one of the more accurate portrayals of the condition in the media.
Fixer Sue: Ray in the third season. Then subverted when it turns out how much trouble he's in.
- Fiona in a way acts as this in her first episode, managing to open the restaurant back up and keep it in order. For the rest of the series she's written more realistically.
Squick: How do you deal with an unruly snob customer? Easy, you lace his dessert with cum.
Unfortunate Implications: Two from the second season. Fiona's black husband cheated on her with her sister while JoJo spurns British Bobby's advances in favour of Irish Dylan. The show doesn't seem to like international coupling much.
- However, there is Pavel and Geoff, neither are whom are Irish.
What an Idiot!: Dylan wants a chef to work at his bar. He walks right past Tiny and Richard, who've just been fired, to ask Shane if he wants to leave his job in a restaurant to work in a bar. Sure, Richard's a bit of a klutz, but between him and Tiny, surely one of them could've handled bar food.
