• In Rubin and Ed, once Rubin wanders off alone in the desert, he starts wearing a hubcap on his head, which is tied on with a rag. At first I thought this was just supposed to be another instance of Rubin being weird. Then I figured out that it was a silly-looking but practical way to keep the sun out of his eyes.
