- Dawson Casting: In the opera at least. Girls the age Salome is meant to be simply don't have the vocal power. (Usually in the play as well, seeing as the character would be a minor in most of the modern world, and an appropriately-aged actress would be uncomfortable at best, illegal at worst.)
