Shark Night/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Fridge Logic: Kind of a stupid meta thing, but why are the sharks attacking during the day in a movie called Shark Night? Get it right, goddammit.
    • Because Shark Day isn't a very good title.
    • That and at least 5 of the deaths in the film take place during the night.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Once the villains throw Sherman (the dog) into the water, it's okay to completely hate them.
  • Too Dumb to Live - Just stay out of the water...god...
    • In theory, that's a wonderful idea. However, they're on an island in the middle of a salt water lake and their boat gets destroyed. So, they're stuck on an island with no way to get to shore and get help.
    • The villains are actively putting them in the water as well.
    • I might even argue that the characters are rather Genre Savvy. Even the one who spray tans his crotch doesn't think they should be going in the water, which in this kind of movie is a sign of a genius.
  • So Bad It's Good: It's pretty much a theatrically-released, larger budget Syfy Channel Original movie.
    • The credits and attention paid to girls getting naked and/or swimming around "bouncily" openly evoke an Exploitation Film.
  • What Do You Mean It's for Kids?: Compared to other 3D horror movies recently released, at least. It doesn't help that Snuff Films and PG-13 don't really mix.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The poster that makes up the page image. Can you imagine swimming and seeing that coming up at you?
