Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Oxford, KG, KB, PC, known before 1972 as Sir Robert Walpole, was a British politician widely agreed to have been the first Prime Minister of Great Britain (although the term did not enter use as anything but an insult for a very long time). He reigned from 1721-1742, all times as a Whig. He saw two monarchs during his time as Prime Minister, Kings George I and II. |
