The biggest change from the original series is that the siblings have known each other for years and do not live together. They also live in a town that has existed for long enough that there is some urban blight present.

''RePure'' is less plot-oriented and more vignette-based than the original series; it is essentially a collection of side-stories focusing primarily on one sister at a time, and the first twelve episodes are split into two stories each with each episode giving one of the sisters the spotlight in the second story - the only full-length episode is the [[Thirteen-Episode Anime|thirteenth (and final)]] one. While dramatic tension isn't ''completely'' missing, the series is even more low-key than its predecessor.
