- Better On DVD: Some animation was improved on the DVDs, though it used all-new music and altered some lines.
- Moral Event Horizon: Skyclone crosses it when, after killing his brother, he uses the anniversary of his death to lure Skyla into a trap.
- Tear Jerker: Despite the Narm, Skyler's death, as its impact on Skyla is seen throughout the entire series.
- "Lonely Heart" goes so far as to have her sleep-dancing with a ghostly image of him on the anniversary of his death; it later saves her from Skyclone.
