* ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh!]]'': Noa, the [[Big Bad]] of the Virtual Nightmare Arc, didn't reveal the reason for his grudge against Seto Kaiba or [[Luke, I Am Your Father|his relationship to Seto and Gozaburo]] until near the end.

* Johan Liebert in ''[[Monster (manga)|Monster]]''. Even after the series ends, a lot of what he was actually trying to accomplish is ''still'' open for debate, {{spoiler|and him being put in a coma and, therefore, rendered incapable of explaining any of it doesn't help things.}}

* In an episode of [[Hell Girl]], an innocent nurse is sent to Hell by a stranger. It is never revealed why he did this and why he's willing to pay the hefty price of going to Hell himself to damn a seemingly innocent woman.
