In Part One, the immortal [[Author Avatar]] Gryphon -- still in Exile, wanted for a crime he did not commit -- is living on the [[Steampunk]] planet Ishiyama under the name "Peter Moreau" as a naval cadet when he is transferred into a most unusual military unit, based in a theatre. There he grows close to the members of the Hanagumi, until his hidden past is revealed. In Part Two, set decades later, after his name is cleared, we learn why he was forced to leave Ishiyama. At the prompting of his wife, Kei, he returns to Ishiyama for a bittersweet reunion with his teammates -- and an unexpected complication.
