Line 1:
work
* Actor Existence Failure: In a rare example of the incapacitation of a key actor doing the dirty work usually reserved for the Grim Reaper, the New Line film series is officially over as a direct result of Wesley Snipes being sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion. The reason? The deadline for New Line/Warner Bros. to produce a fourth film before the rights to the franchise reverted to Marvel Studios/The Walt Disney Company passed during this prison term.
** Though the TV series already seemed to be an indication that the studio had no real intent to make a fourth movie, so Snipes' incarceration was likely incidental to the studio relinquishing the rights.
* Development Hell: A prison sentence for tax evasion is holding up the fourth film. Though a reboot (specially as Marvel got the filming rights back from New Line) is always possible.
* Hey, It's That Guy!: The Cat has joined the Blood Pack. Didn't even need to become a vampire, already had the fangs!
* The Other Darrin: Kirk Jones replaced Wesley Snipes in the title role for the television series.
* Screwed by the Network: Blade: The Series. While it wasn't mindblowingly great, it was still a decent TV show with what you'd expect to see from something bearing the name "Blade". Sadly Spike TV didn't see it that way from the ratings and pulled the plug. Leaving the series unresolved.
