{{Heartwarming}}
* In the pilot episode, when Hoffs tries to teach Hansen how to be a teenager again, it's awkward at first. Then later they're seen in an arcade and while it's at first twitches, Hansen has a full blown, child-like smile that only Johnny Depp could pull off. It was as though he remembered being a kid again and was having fun.
* In Part 2 of the Pilot Episode, following up on Hansen's recent fight with Waxer, the principal seems hardnosed like in Part 1, but when Hansen and he are alone together, he tries to reason with him, not to fight him anymore. Said principal, has no idea that Hansen is a cop and while he does have some attitude on what he thinks is a new Juvenile delinquent student, he privately warns Hansen that Waxer is a killer. Deep down, the man's an educator worried about the safety of his students and even if he dislikes Hansen, he doesn't want to see him get killed.
