** Enforced. As with Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Pokémon gets a separate moveset locked into that game when transferred into Scarlet and Violet instead of retaining its moves learned from previous games, effectively making transferring moves from previous generations impossible. This meant that previous moves that isn't available as a TM in Scarlet and Violet, such as Defog, had their distribution significantly reduced. This also led to scenarios such as Chansey can't have Heal Bell, when it used to learn the move through breeding in previous games.
** Most recovery moves hashad their PP reduced from 10 to 5.
** Following Cinderace's success in competitive formats, Protean and Libero now only change the user's type once per switch-in in Scarlet and Violet.
** Zacian and Zamazenta's stats have been reduced, with both of their Hero of Many Battles formes having their Attack stat drop to 120; Crowned Zacian has its Attack stat reduced by an additional 10 points to 150 while Crowned Zamazenta has both its defenses reduced by 5 points each. Additionally, Intrepid Sword and Dauntless Shield only activate once per battle when these abilities didn't have any restrictions in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
