  • Angst? What Angst?: They all vehemently denied any tension within the group, of which there was so very, very much. Eventually, most of them fessed up and discussed it, but Emma remained all smiles.
  • Ear Worm: Too many to count.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Part of the reason for the band's success is that their songs were enjoyed by people who would normally hate the idea of listening to manufactured pop groups. This is because of their extremely high production values, the varied harmonies and the general attempt to make each single stand out. The fact the band didn't release any covers as singles helped as well.
  • Everyone Has Standards: They clearly draw the line when it comes racism. When a Dutch program, the host presents 5 people dressed as "Black Pete", well known folk legend. Mel B, who's half black, rips into the guy... telling him "should get proper ones" instead of Blackface. To add salt of the wound, the host adds a joke about Nelson Mandela, OUCH. The girls repeated tells if that was going to keep add it, it should be updated. This happened in 1997!
  • Fan Fic Magnet: They have a small yet growing fan-fictions about them, ranging from run of the mill to Alternate Universe Fic, even including Les Yay Shipping
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: An advert for Walkers Crisps has the girls being turned down by footballer Gary Linekar. Fast forward to, Victoria being able to marry David Beckham, a footballer.
    • "Wannabe" and "Stop" had Geri seeking some cheeky grabs at Emma, squeezing her butt. Fast forward to 2019, where Mel B confess to having a one-night stand with Geri, even Melanie C, who was in the audience, was caught off-guard.
  • Scenery Censor: When they preform the song "Naked", they're seen in chairs... well, you be the judge.
    • This Impluse advert makes it look like they're walking in the nude, thanks to some genius camera angles.
  • What Do You Mean It's for Kids?: Seriously, they were marketed to (and incredibly popular with) preteen girls, but most of their songs were very thinly veiled metaphors for sex. Some that instantly spring to mind? "Naked", "2 Become 1", "If You Can't Dance", "Holler"...
    • Getting Crap Past the Radar: In one of Emma's solo works "A Girl Like Me", if you replace the sound bit with "a naughty 'F' word", it actually makes a complete sentence.
