* The kirin of The Twelve Kingdoms are uniformly Stupid Good, but this is an accepted fact in-universe: as the kirin are supernatural creatures of mercy, it's something that is hardwired in their nature, and one of a ruler's most important challenges is learning when to ignore the advice of his kirin, since a kingdom cannot be ruled on compassion alone. |

* Emma from The Promised Neverland. Being an Actual Pacifist with a policy of If You Kill Him You Will Be Just Like Him regarding enemies is often an admirable trait, but most folks with this policy do set limits. When the villains you staunchly claim should be spared are Humanoid Abomination types who raise children like cattle in People Farms disguised as orphanages, such a policy seems a little extreme. (Most would agree that even a Knight Templar stance towards these demons would be much better than the current state of the world.) This failure to accept reality made poor Emma something of The Scrappy among fans. To Emma's credit, she does manage to eventually broker a peace treaty with the demons, but one does have to wonder if she could have rescued everyone much faster had she not been so concerned with finding a way to keep the demons from starving. |
