  • Hey, It's That Voice!: Lubba is voiced by Dex Manley, who is better known for voicing Falco in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
  • Shout-Out:
    • World 2's background solar system sure looks familiar, doesn't it? Especially that third planet from the sun? The blue one?
    • Flipsville Galaxy has a straw hat in the background that looks remarkably similar to the one Luffy wears.
    • Lubba is a large, purple star-shaped character.
  • What Could Have Been: It's true that Mario games aren't known for their plots, but it would have been interesting to see where the dev team was planning to go with their story ideas, had they been given the chance.
