  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Unedited versions of the shorts are rare, and the shorts in general have only seen limited DVD release. There was a Droopy DVD set however. Fortunately, there was a Laserdisc set, "The Compleat Tex Avery" released which included ALL of Tex's MGM cartoons (including the two "banned" shorts "Uncle Tom's Cabana" and "Half-Pint Pygmy") uncut. If you look around online, you might just find it for a good price.
  • Tethercat Principle: Quite a lot, especially in "Ventriloquist Cat".
  • Values Dissonance: Many examples mock black people, while "Big Heel-Watha" and "Jerky Turkey" ridicule Native Americans.
    • The Droopy DVD set even includes a preface acknowledging this, as the shorts are completely uncut.
  • What Do You Mean It Wasn't Made on Drugs?: "The Cat That Hated People." Several of the animators for it actually worked on Fantasia.
