I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and admit something. When I first came across The Annotated Series on the beeupyou channel in early 2010 I was going through a rather rough patch in my life. I shan't bore you with the details but this project basically kept my spirits lifted (and they were lifted very fucking high by this; I got a sore throat laughing so much over the course of a few days of watching CAD and SMW) at a time when there was fuck all else around to do that for me. In other words, it made me remember what I'd learned and keep smiling. So if any of you are wondering why I seem a bit obsessed and attached, and if I sometimes seem to be doing a bit more than necessary for the project what with all the weird bonus shit I do, there's your reason.   • Whenever Avirosb says he'll retire, it upsets people.
  • The project has included several tributes to late actors:
    • A tribute video to Captain Lou Albano, the live-action Mario from The Super Mario Bros Super Show!.
    • Danny Wells (Luigi) got one that was much more somber.
    • Here's the one for Bob Hoskins, who played Mario in the Super Mario Bros. film.
    • An entire episode of Mega Man is dedicated to Robin Williams. The plot of the episode itself involves a genie, half of the commercials are related to Aladdin, and "A Friend Like Me" plays over the ending credits.
    • Len Carlson, who played General Klump in Donkey Kong Country and Ganon in The Legend of Zelda was given a heartwarming tribute.
    • An episode of Sonic Sat AM was dedicated to Satoru Iwata, who had passed away on July 11th, 2015. The annotators naturally expressed themselves with their Gallows Humor, but all in good taste.
    • A tribute video to Roddy Piper was uploaded, remarkably similar to the tribute to previous WWE celebrity Captain Lou Albano.
    • Archie's Weird Mysteries Episode 12 was dedicated to both David Bowie and Motörhead's Lemmy.
    • A tribute video to Joe Alaskey, voice of Grandpa Lou Pickles, Plucky Duck, and Daffy Duck, was made in wake of his death to cancer.
    • A tribute video to Alan Young, voice of Scrooge McDuck.
    • A tribute video to Jack Riley, voice of Stu Pickles. Complete with chocolate pudding.
    • A tribute video to Tony Rosato, voice of "Mama" Luigi in the Super Mario World cartoon.
    • On one of the Annotation Archive video of Donkey Kong Country Episode 28 has a tribute at the end for writer of the show Erika Strobel who died in March 2017
    • A separate video on the Annoverse channel was in memory of Stefan Karl who played Robbie Rotton on LazyTown
    • Kidd Video Episode 3 had a very late dedication to Stan Lee
    • Another separate video on the Annoverse channel was dedicated in memory of Stephen Hillenburg who was the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants
    • A third separate video was dedicated to Aron Tager, who voiced Cranky Kong on Donkey Kong Country and played a few characters on the Goosebumps tv series
    • The second re-annotated episode of Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm was dedicated to Luke Perry who voiced Sub-Zero.
  • The annotators were their usual unrestrained selves for the majority of Our Annotated Friend, Martin. However, either out of respect or boredom with the material or both, Dr. King's "I've Been the Mountaintop" speech in the last part was largely uninterrupted.
    • The trailer for Schindler's List is also mostly uninterrupted, mostly due to the film's subject matter.

  • The Mammoth car's Final Speech is surprisingly heartfelt.
  • The entirety of the Spectreman series finale, with Spectreman giving up his chance to live a normal human life in order to beat Dr. Gori and Karas for good, than saying goodbye to all his friends. Everyone's given a heartfelt send-off and even the Annotators remark on how emotional the whole thing is.
  • The penultimate episodes of the Annotation Station on YouTube (a two-parter consisting of the second episode of The Nutshack) showcased a lot of the Annotated Series's most memorable moments, and of course featured the Surf Music.
  • The credits roll at the end of the final annotatable video on the Annotation Station channel. Set to the credits theme of Mystery Science Theater 3000, It featured a list of ALL the uploaders and annotators throughout the entire series (with even the anonymous annotators during the early days of the Series getting their own dedicated credit), as well as an annotation giving a shout-out to former annotators Owandt and Bauglir, in addition to the infamous GoseiGreen.
