These things about The Bet (fan work) are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.
- Ship-to-Ship Combat: Sharp and many other Bet writers were on the "anti-Akane" side of the often quite volatile Ranma ½ shipping wars of the 1990s and early 2000s, and are in large part responsible for her Flanderization into a "psycho-bitch" in Fanon. Consequently Akane frequently comes off badly in Bet fics. The character "Rune" from the story Rune with a View even states definitively, "Over 95% of the timelines that have Akane marry Ranma end badly."
