The Golem/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Harsher in Hindsight: The "decree against the Jews" inevitably evokes the anti-Jewish legislation of Nazi Germany (particularly the Nuremberg Laws of 1935), and the circular badges the Jews wear on their clothes are poignantly reminiscent of the Star of David which Jews were forced to wear in Germany and most German-occupied territories c. 1939-1944.
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel: The demonic face that suddenly appears and hovers in the air during in the Summoning Ritual is quite effective, especially as it will take first-time watchers by surprise.
  • The Woobie: The Golem. His pitiful cluelessness and sadness at being rejected are heart-wrenching at times.
