The Incredible Hulk (film)/Awesome

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • There were two in the final fight scene. The audience in this troper's theater applauded when the Hulk saved Betty from the exploding helicopter by clapping his hands together. The force of that clap sent a blast of air which blew the flames away from the survivors. Physics says no, the Hulk says yes, physics quietly sits back down. As for the other moment, Police Car Gauntlets.
  • "HULK! SMASH!"
    • Followed immediately by Hulk ripping Abomination's arm bone out and stabbing him with it!
    • That whole fight was so awesome I sometimes rewatch just that. You can tell both were fighting with everything. Even to the point when Hulk is strangling Abomination with the chain, Abomination tries to put a thumb in Hulk's eye
    • When Abomination was swinging the chain around like a hammer, and Hulk just stopped to cause a crack to open underneath him is awesome to me. It showed very simply how the Hulk has won many times by out-thinking his opponents.
  • The Abomination has one in the final fight too. After taking an insane amount of punishment from the Hulk, including the aforementioned police car gauntlets, all he has to say is, "Is that all you got?"
    • And a bit earlier, he catches a rocket that was shot at him, then lets it explode against his chest anyway to little effect.
  • Doc Samson's verbal smack-down to General Ross. ("I never knew why she never talked about you... I do now.")
  • One of the very last scenes of the movie, where Bruce is meditating in cabin in the woods, then he opens his eyes revealing the bright green of the Hulk, combined with his knowing smirk showing that he is now in complete control.
  • Despite being a villain, you had to be impressed by Blonsky in the park after he took the Super Serum. Sprinting far faster than soldiers years younger is cool enough, but he took on a very pissed Hulk with just a pistol and HELD HIS OWN! This is a guy who is barely superhuman.
    • Not only that, but it sets up an Ironic Echo for one of the above moments. So far they've literally thrown everything short of carpet bombing and tactical nukes at the Hulk and, at best, slowed him down for a little while. So here comes Blonsky, with his pistol, and he unloads the full clip, everyone and everything else around is knocked out or destroyed, and Hulk's stomping up towards him. What does he do? Stand there, look him in the eye (as best he can) and say "Is that all you got?" This is of course right before Hulk thrust-kicks him across an entire city park into a tree, but he still lived through that as well.
