Topic on Forum:Trope Talk

In an off-wiki discussion with User:Looney Toons, we realized that we have some media pages that don't quite match what a "reasonable bystander" would think they are from their names. Okay, we've known that for a while (for example, "Power Trio" has nothing to do with what the music industry calls a power trio), but LT spotted a set of closely-related tropes like this, all related to fan-made videos.

Here's my suggestion for cleaning up what we have, with links to what we currently have:

  • Animated Music Video: A music video where the visuals are made up solely of animation footage. The official video for Dire Straits's Money for Nothing would be included here.
  • Fan Vid: A fan-made music video; the visuals can contain animated, live-action, or still content from any source.
  • AMV: A fan-made music video where the visuals are made up solely of anime footage. (The term "AMV" was popularized during the North American fad for anime of the 1990s.) A recognizable subset of both "Fan Vid" and "Animated Music Video"
  • Machinima: A fan-made music video where the visuals are made up solely of computer-generated animation footage (usually game footage; occasionally custom animation from Poser, 3DS MAX, or another consumer-grade 3D-graphics creation program, or works made in such software such as RWBY). A recognizable subset of both "Fan Vid" and "Animated Music Video"

And set all of them to be Useful Notes pages - they're neither Tropes nor individual works.

Am I barking up the wrong tree? Did I miss any pages that should be included here?
