In fact, how can you exactly need a "reason"? Being canon to the comics means nothing because darkstalkers is a videogame and the comics are only a non-canon adaptation, if anything that information should be given in the comics' tropes place and be informed it's an adaptation and not something official with the story.

The joker died in batman's movie, so why the joker keeps appearing alive in other movies, videogames or more batman's media? Because it's something it only happened in a non-canon source, not a original source like it would the comics. That's why the information and the tropes that referenced his death are only applied to the movie.

Darkstalkers is a videogame, not a comic, and capcom have done good confirming only the games' events and facts are canon, just like morrigan being a descendant of Morgan Le fay is something the cartoon came with, the whole eternal bliss thing is just stuff the UDON crew came along making Morrigan and Lilith evil monsters, nothing that happens in the comics can be related to the games and for so the official characters and their lore.

I'm saying this mostly because I hate those versions of the characters, but also because it's something that should be obvious giving most adaptations or media are given tropes specifically to those sources rather than the original cause the original does not play those tropes.

I mean, do you realize how having that information as official in the videogames' fodder contradicts a lot of tropes applied to both Morrigan and Lilith, right?
