You want to be seriously careful about your mood when going about addressing particular rules. I've seen things get royally volatile over where users have to promise not to do a particular thing to be allowed to resume editing. Some users have begged to be banned outright because they feel they're being made to apologize and promise never again to do what they know full damn well they're not going to be able to avoid doing.

We already say that on the page: "Be polite (or at least calm), even if — especially if — the discussion isn't going your way. Getting snarky or insulting because you're not finding the support you want is not going to win you points with anyone."
As for users begging to be banned outright, I haven't seen any examples of that on this particular wiki. And we've been drawing new users' attention to our page on what is and is not bannable for quite a while now.
