Trivia about Tower of Terror includes:

• California Doubling: Zigzagged. The film is set in Los Angeles, but most of the scenes involving the hotel's exterior were shot at the attraction itself in Disney World, Florida. The interior scenes however were filmed at a sound stage where a replica of the attraction's interior was set up, as well as at the Wilshire Theatre, also in Los Angeles.
• Divorced Installment: Unlike the ride it was based on, which was styled after an episode of the Twilight Zone, the film is basically its own continuity without any connections to the show, probably to avoid paying royalties to CBS.
• Role Reprisal: Prior to playing the role of Sally in the film, Lindsey Ridgeway portrayed the then-unnamed child actress character in the ride's pre-show intro.
