These things about X-Men (film) are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

And You Thought It Would Fail: The people at Fox and Tom Rothman expected the film to flop.
Genre Turning Point: The film's success started a 20 year running film series but also greenlit several films based on Marvel.
Seinfeld Is Unfunny: Due to the superhero film genre being so prevalent since then, it could be hard to remember the film's impact.
Signature Line: "Mutation. It is the key to our evolution."
Signature Scene: Wolverine vs. Mystique.
What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: The first scene after the opening titles has a flashback that took place during the Holocaust.
WTH Costuming Department: Many fans didn't like that the X-Men costumes are black leather.
