  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Replace "scaring" with "magic," and the parallels between this series and Harry Potter are just downright eerie.
  • Ugly Cute: Ickis. Actually, most of the monsters had this tendency, but in Ickis' case his appearance made it more difficult for him to be taken seriously.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: The Gromble wears lipstick and has a collection of high-heeled shoes.
