  • Cult Classic: Apparently. It flopped when it came out, critics panned it, and fans of Rick Moranis either Love It or Hate It. However, there are some people that actually like this movie.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Little Giants.
    • What they have in common:
      • Both movies are from Warner Bros.
      • Moranis in the lead role
      • Begins with a flashback to his character as a kid
      • Said character to have wife leave him for unknown reasons and has a crush on a female childhood friend
    • Differences:
      • It's not a sports movie
      • This movie was also distributed by Morgan Creek
      • David Leary is an only child and isn't exactly as optimistic as Danny O'Shea
      • David's wife didn't just leave him, but divorced him
  • The Woobie: David, especially with this line:
