The head of state is the Sovereign (currently King Charles III), and the head of government is the Prime Minister (currently Justin Trudeau). Any citizen at least 18 years old may vote in any election affecting the place where he or she lives, with two exceptions: the Chief Electoral Officer and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer (for whom casting a ballot would be a conflict of interest). |
