* [[Fridge Logic]]: People see a lot of positive things written about a pig in a spider web and are thus impressed with the pig. No one seems to care that there is a literate spider. |

** Mrs. Zuckerman points this out, stating that they don't have a remarkable pig, they have a remarkable ''spider''. Mr. Zuckerman dismisses it. The unspoken conclusion is that ''God'' put the words in the web, not some ordinary gray spider. |

All versions.
- Funny Moments: This moment is pretty memorable:
Charlotte: Does anybody know how to spell TERRIFIC? [to write on her web] |
- Magnum Opus: Charlotte's egg sac in-story, and arguably for E.B. White, the story itself.
- Protagonist Title Fallacy: The title spider is more the mentor to the actual protagonist, Wilbur.
- Tear Jerker: Charlotte's death. Wilbur's reaction in the 1973 film sells it pretty well, too.
The 1973 film.
- Awesome Music: Arguably the entire soundtrack, but especially "Mother Earth And Father Time." Its hope filled lyrics about enjoying our short time on Earth is really emotional.
- Ear Worm: "Chin up, Chin up. Everybody loves a happy face!" From the 1973 animated film.
- Moment of Awesome: The Barber Quartet singing to Wilbur. Never has a song to a pig been so damn awesome to This Troper.
- Wangst: Even though he's faced with becoming a bacon side-dish, Wilbur still manages to be over-the-top.
Wilbur: I DON'T WANNA DIE! I DON'T WANNA DIE! I DON'T WANNA DIE! |
The 2006 film.
- Ugly Cute: Charlotte. Aside from having only two eyes and several "eyespots," she otherwise looks like a real spider. And yet, somehow, she comes off as beautiful.
