Clone Wars Gambit/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Anakin's characterization is a bit across the map with him being a highly racist Anti-Jedi (!?) character in the adaptation of the movie. Books by Karen Miller tend to focus on Anakin Skywalker as he appears in the television series, noble and loving to his padawan.
    • Obi Wan Kenobi is Christ-Frodo. Oddly enough, I'm not exaggerating. Obi Wan exists to suffer horribly for the sins of others. Just, read the books, you'll understand.
  • Complete Monster: Lok Durd. Good LORD, Lok Durd.
  • Relationship Writing Fumble: Padme and Bail Organa are (probably) intended to be close platonic friends, what with them being married to other people and all. The problem is Miller has to have them think "we are both married to other people" everytime they spend time alone, or hug, or have a moment. It comes off very "me thinks they doth protest too much." In Wild Space, they also end up holding hands for a moment too long and become embarrassed when they realize it. In the same novel, Palpatine wonders if Padme realizes she's attracted to Bail. They are honestly in love with their respective spouses, but the constant "we're just friends" makes it awkward
    • To say nothing of the Anakin/Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan/Bail Ho Yay....
  • The Woobie: Obi Wan Kenobi.
