You don't want to use an actual timer to make the player advance since that can be frustrating, you'd have to be a total Jerkass to just suddenly tell the player "oh, looks like the Big Bad finished taking over the universe while you were dawdling about, Game Over" and actually creating a branch into the plot where the villain succeeds without ending the game is just too much work...so what can be done? |
