Sister Cristina Scuccia (also known as Suor Cristina, Italian for "Sister Christina"; born 19 August 1988) is an Italian singer and former Ursuline nun who won the 2014 season of The Voice Italy. She first gained prominence for performing "No One" by Alicia Keys, partly due to the novelty of a nun participating in a pop music competition. Cristina chose to be part of Team J-Ax, and wore her usual nun's habit throughout the contest. In the final, she won the trophy with 62% of the Italian votes against runner-up Giacomo Voli. After winning, she thanked God and recited the Lord's Prayer to the show organizers and audience.

Her victory during the 2014 season of The Voice Italy landed her a contract with Universal, during which she released her debut album Sister Cristina. While the lead single–a cover of Madonna's Signature Song "Like A Virgin"–raised eyebrows due to its previously sexually provocative nature, Scuccia defended her use of the song as she interpreted it in a more spiritual light i.e. a person's relationship with God. "Like A Virgin" was then followed by the single "Blessed Be Your Name".

And while she is no stranger to theatre herself, her success as a pop singer also landed her a role in an Italian theatre production of the musical Sister Act.

After a period of silence, in 2022 Scuccia appeared in an Italian talk show—clad in high heels and trousers—announcing her departure from the convent she served for the past fifteen years in favour of further pursuing her musical career. While some have understandably been upset by her sudden exit from her vocation in favour of a worldly pursuit, Scuccia assured her fans that she hasn't renounced her faith either.

Cristina Scuccia provides examples of the following tropes:
  • Christian Rock
  • The Cover Changes the Meaning: She subverted "Like A Virgin" by performing it as a softer, downtempo ballad and interpreting it as about one's relationship with God as opposed to the innuendo most people associate with the Madonna single.
  • Cover Version: Most of her output is this, particularly "Like A Virgin".
  • "God Is Love" Songs: Her interpretation of "Like A Virgin", in that she views it as about her relationship with God.
  • Heel Faith Turn: She wasn't exactly a devoutly religious person at first despite her parents being deep in the faith, instead initially aspiring to be a singer. Her role as Sister Rosa (who founded the Ursuline order) in a musical production became the turning point to her vocation as a nun. Though while she did give up on her vocation under the Ursuline order, she did go on record to state that she hasn't renounced her Catholic faith either, allaying concerns from those who feared she had turned atheist or something along those lines.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Being how a nun like her is expected to wear her habit all the time. Later averted upon her departure from the Ursuline order.
  • Nuns Are Funny: Her success as a pop-rock act was partly due to the novelty of being a singing nun, which inevitably drew comparisons to Sister Act.
  • Softer and Slower Cover: "Like A Virgin", which Scuccia turned into a more heartfelt ballad.
