An independent production and distribution company notable for outliving pretty much all its competition and for distributing almost nothing that could be conventionally considered to be "good". Crown International was founded in 1947, but it had its heyday in the 1960s and 1970s, producing and distributing a steady stream of horror, biker, action and sexploitation films of rather dubious quality to drive-ins and grindhouses.

Amazingly enough, they're still around, although they haven't released anything new since the early 1990s and subsist by licensing their library to other companies for DVD releases. The DVD rights for their catalog are currently held by Mill Creek Entertainment.

A number of its films have been featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
