Tropes used in Drugs and Kisses include:
- Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: Alcohol, and of course, drugs, seem to heavily inform the character's decision making, Coyote's in particular.
- Berserk Button: Farm-boy is the most laid-back guy you could imagine; until you send him a potentially incriminating text message.
- Casanova Wannabe: Sketch the raccoon
- Confused Question Mark: Appears regularly, along with Exclamation Marks.
- The Couch: The most common setting in the comic.
- The Door Slams You: One of the main Running Gags.
- Furry Reminder: strip 33, Farm Boy is shown tearing up bread to feed to ducks, camera moves and it is revealed the ducks are anthropomorphic beggars
- Life Embellished: most strips are based on real life events, just without the Furry avatars
- My Local: Several strips are set in the pub "The Drunken Witch".
- Police Are Useless: Despite several attempts, the police never seem to bust the gang.
- Running Gag: The Door Slams You happens to Sketch. A lot.
- Shopping Cart Antics: Rode in, rammed into each other, stolen, dismantled, and on one occasion used as a BBQ grill.
- Sir Swearsalot: Coyote
- Snowed In: A three-strip arc depicts the gang trapped in their apartment by several feet of snow.
- Speech Bubbles: Various flavours. Standard for dialogue, angular for phone/radio, and spiked for yelling.
- The Stoner: Farm Boy the goat
- Stoners Are Funny: Main Premise of the strip
- Women Are Wiser: Rainbow the dog, the most sensible of the group...just.
