  • Crazy Awesome: Sarah, and to some extent, Principal La Fontaine
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Sarah seems to be the most popular character in all the series.
  • Girls Need Role Models: Averted hard with the drug abuse and vandalism and by the fact that the series hardly touches any gender issue outside a couple of jokes
  • Les Yay: A couple of lines imply that Allyson learned how to kiss from Sarah. Jake inmediatly asks how it was
  • Mary Sue: If we analyze the characters, they may fit in different categoryes
  • Pandering to the Base: A couple of romantic storylines were included in order to appeal to the readers asking for more love related plots.
  • Periphery Demographic: The series originally was created with the college and post-college pop-culture savvy public in mind, taking in count the tons of tons of references to other works younger readers may not be aware of. However, and probably because of the greater female to male ratio and the diversity in the female characters, most of the readers are teenage girls.
  • The Scrappy: Allyson is the least popular character, probably because she's pretty tame and boring compared to the bad boy and the cute crazy goth girl
