Elizabeth I of England/YMMV
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Elizabeth ruled both England and Ireland; perception of her rule in the latter is (to say the least) less favourable than the standard image. The Irish were the ones who took to calling her "Bloody Bess", largely because her armies brutally and violently crushed several attempted rebellions. Some Englishmen have been equally dubious, as for instance, William Cobbett, who says, "this she-'Head of the Church,' this maker of it, was a murderer, and wished to be an assassin, in cold blood."
