- Narm: Try reading Derpy's lines in her now-canonical voice.
- Obfuscating Stupidity: Perhaps her canon voice is this; given what she's come up with, she may have been playing along with her tormentors to keep them from hurting her daughter. Part of the reason everyone was shocked at her speech in Ponyville was that she was saying it in her real voice?
- Tear Jerker: Given the setting, this is to be expected.
