From Nobody to Nightmare/Playing With

Basic Trope: A villain that starts out as nobody special, but years later is one of the most dangerous people in the world.

  • Straight: Jadal was originally just a poor man, who ended up with a dangerous artifact that made him all-powerful.
  • Exaggerated: Jadal was once someone's pet hamster. Now he's usurped Satan and working on doing the same to God.
  • Downplayed: Jadal was once a middle-class drone, but has since become the head of a moderate crime ring
  • Justified:
    • There were incredibly harsh conditions, prompting the change.
    • Jadal was one of those people you never really notice day-to-day. As such, nobody was worried about what he might do until it was far, far too late.
    • Anything can happen to anybody. Jadal happened to be a nobody who came upon something that really allowed them to change their life, but seeing as they were mentally unbalanced, strongly or not, they ended up using the change to become something horrible.
  • Inverted:
    • Jadal was a special person, but became a minor villain.
    • Jadal was originally a poor man, but later becomes the Big Good, or even The Hero.
  • Subverted: His backstory isn't as bad as it seems, and he seems like a decent enough guy.
  • Double Subverted: He's still incredibly dangerous.
  • Parodied: Jadal went from a normal office worker to a Physical God... and everyone either doesn't notice or care.
  • Deconstructed: Jadal, the newly-crowned God of Hellfire, still harbors deep-seated resentment and something of an inferiority complex from his days as a lowly retail worker.
  • Reconstructed: Jadal still has some emotional baggage from before he became a one-man Ragnarok... Which makes him even meaner, crazier, and more unpredictable.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted:
    • Jadal was a generally fearsome person to start out.
    • Jadal started out small and ended it small, with small in no small amount in between.
  • Enforced: ???

    • "Emperor Evulz, there's a bit of an issue with the soldiers in Sector 1337..." "Oh, yes, now you're going to tell me that Minion Jadal turned into a super-powerful whatever-its-called." "Actually..."
    • "You know, he did say that one day we were all going to pay. I guess we should have seen that he would be the one who gets his hands on the artifact."
  • Invoked: Jadal's a nobody in a dead-end life, and he's sick of it, so he actively seeks a way to spread his suffering on the widest, most horrible scale possible. After all, misery loves company.
  • Exploited: Someone is subliminally making Jadal's life hell to make a super-powerful ally for him- or herself in the future.
  • Defied: Jadal starts from nowhere, and after being snubbed by his coworkers and getting the power of hellfire, he becomes... a very good cook.
