Each holiday has released or caused a Holiday Mode release of a new creature or creatures -- the list so far if you like or hate it has included: Leprechaun for St Patrick's day, Pinata for Cinco de Mayo, a Satyr & Pastel for Easter, Quetzal for Summer Solstice, Grimlikin & Banshee for Halloween, and Gobbles for Thanksgiving (it appeared on both Canada & North America's respective dates) for Christmas there are plans for an Elf and some kind of doll-spirit as of 2011.
Each creature is proof that the creators have Shown Their Work by basing some of the Espers with an All Myths Are True feel since some of the names are based on high-level religious spirits like Anansi the spider and Nanook the bear who carries the world.
- Other creatures are named in fun ways like 'Anura' for frog species or 'Rattox' which is just a poisonous rat. Either way if you like it or hate it, you have to respect the creators for going the distance, sadly they did pull a little bit of a rip off and Follow the Leader with the deer-like species which are highly Lawyer-Friendly Cameo of sorts with a spring, summer, autumn, and winter variety of deer like the latest Black & White Pokemon.
