Basic Trope: There's a bar where the heroes go after hours to unwind and chitchat.

  • Straight: In the comic-book city of Tropesville, some superheroes spend their off hours at "Buffy's Bar".
  • Exaggerated: In the comic-book city of Tropesville, all superbeings attend wild parties at "Buffy's Bar" 24/7.
  • Justified: The owner of Buffy's Bar lets the superheroes run a tab without revealing their true identities.
  • Inverted: Bad Guy Bar
  • Subverted: The superheroes try to hang out at Buffy's Bar, but the owner chases them away as it's bad for business.
  • Double Subverted: ...for them to be in the main bar -- they're supposed to go directly to the secret bar in the Abandoned Warehouse adjoining.
  • Parodied: The superheroes spend all their time carousing at Buffy's Bar, even when alien invaders attack the city.
  • Deconstructed: Buffy's Bar is a known place of superheroes' gathering, which prompts constant attacks by supervillains.
  • Reconstructed: After being destroyed yet again, Buffy's Bar is rebuilt as an impregnable fortress brisling with Nifravium-loaded cannons.
  • Zig Zagged: The superheroes try to hang out at Buffy's Bar, but the owner chases them out: heroes go to the secret bar in the Abandoned Warehouse, where the owner gives them there drinks on the house. Supervillains find out, attack, and destroy Buffy's secret bar, which is then rebuilt much stronger. This bar is later closed down, after which the heroes go to Paulie's Pub instead...
  • Averted: There is no bar.
  • Enforced: "We need a setting to show what the heroes do after hours; how about a bar?"
  • Lampshaded: "So, is there like a bar or something in this town where the superheroes hang out?"
  • Invoked: The owner of Buffy's Bar wants to capitalize on the rising number and popularity of superheroes, and so opens a bar to cater to the heroes' needs.
  • Defied: The owner of Buffy's Bar refuses to serve superpowered beings, due to public fear and/or hatred of such beings.
  • Discussed: "I'm glad this bar's here. Great drinks on a hero discount, and the company of this city's protectors!"
  • Conversed: "After work, I bet they all go out to some bar or restaurant to discuss the trials they face as superheroes or something."
