  • The dying Mr. Chipping, in response to the doctor who remarks what a pity it is that he is dying without having children, replies, "...But you're wrong. I have had children...thousands of them...thousands of them...and all boys" — followed by a montage of all those he has taught over sixty-three years, the last one ending with a Title Drop: "Goodbye, Mr. Chips ... goodbye."
